Spring is a fantastic time to revitalize your daily life. Why not use essential oils to refresh your spring routine? Essential oils can be a great ally in this seasonal transition, enhancing everything from your diet and exercise routine to your home cleaning and family activities. Here’s how you can integrate essential oils into your spring preparations:

Healthy Eating Habits

EEveryone adapts their eating habits as the seasons change. It happens naturally. The wholesome soups and roasts makes way for fresh, crunchy salads and lively braais here in South Africa.  We have to consciously think about incorporating our pure edible essential oils and blends into our healthy eating habits.  For instance, add essential oils like lemon and peppermint to your cupcake or brownie dough just before baking, or mix our Boost blend into your yogurt or porridge to add flavour.  Our collection of 100% natural essential oils which may be ingested, can help with detoxifying or supporting liver function while others aids digestion. Some essential oils are known for its respiratory benefits, which can be particularly helpful during physical activities. Here is a few pointers of how to use essential oils to better your exercise routines:

  • Diffuse energizing oils in your workout area.  Oils such as Eucalyptus essential oil helps clear the respiratory system, making it easier to breathe during intense activities. Adding a drop Grapefruit of Sweet Orange adds to that energetic positive feeling and can help boost your performance.
  • Apply Lavender essential oil added to some Grapeseed oil topically after exercise to soothe sore muscles and promote relaxation.

Add 1 part each of ethanol or vodka (for emulsifying the oils), carrier oils with sun-protective properties such as Rosehip or Pomegranate Seed, and distilled water. Add about 5% essential oils. Carrot Seed essential oil is a must because it also protects against harmful UV rays. Add Peppermint  and Lavender essential oils to help with that cooling effect. Use it to spray over the arms and neck areas when the kids start feeling too hot.
