Main Chemical Compounds

These last two compounds make up up only about 15% of the total constituents in this oil.  There are many others too but very little.  The major constituent, carotol, is a sesquiterpene alcohol and is found to be an anti-fungal, herbicidal and insecticidal agent. Carotol is also the reason this oil is a middle note – it is less volatile than terpenes (doesn’t evaporate as fast). It also consists of strong anti-inflammatory and anti-oxidant properties.
