Reseller Introduction Marina Schmidt

What a special Reseller Introduction: Marina Schmidt. A gentle soul that exudes calm and peace. She makes us feel centered and focused with her calm quiet way of being. Marina joined our resellers fairly recently but also left a pretty unique mark on our group early on.  “I grew up in Queenstown in the Eastern Cape. And I am a qualified Radiographer, and worked for many years, before I took time off to raise my 3 beautiful daughters.  I now live in Klerksdorp in the North West.”

Marina met Dr. Olivier at the Pretoria Boeremark in 2020 and kept visiting her there often, buying the essential oils for her own use and products.  Then she decided it’s time and joined the reseller team in 2022. She feels that “in life you’re just waiting to meet the right person.  I have learned so much from Denise.  Essential Oils are just amazing. If you have a problem, there is a solution amongst the OilGrow essential oils.”

Marina’s unique way of using the OilGrow oils

Marina indicated that she has always had an interest in essential oils, but has been a bit sceptical of it at the same time.  She has a medical background and that caused her to ask more questions and do her research thoroughly.  In about 2018, Marina decided that she needed an alternative pain cream to those available in pharmacies.  She developed one that year and added a mixture of essential oils. “I had such amazing feedback that I decided to make other products as well.” So her unique way of using the OilGrow oils are by making her natural homemade creams and a very luxurious lip balm.

Something interesting about Marina’s products is the bee factor.  Her product house is called “Abeille” which in French means “bee” but when pronounced sounding like “ ‘n by” which is Afrikaans, also meaning “bee”. She started using beeswax because her husband’s hobby of beekeeping supplied her with lots of beeswax.  She naturally discovered this wonderful product’s benefits. Beeswax is such a wonderful ingredient.

A bit about beeswax

Chemically, beeswax mainly consists of esters, fatty acids and various long-chain alcohols. Esters are responsible for the aroma.  Fatty acids are what make beeswax great as an emulsifier.  The long-chain alcohols are also co-emulsifiers but are said to lower LDL cholesterols in humans up to 29%. Beeswax also contains propolis.  The composition of the propolis varies considerably from region to region depending on what is available for use to the bees.  It is a resin that bees collect from trees and plants in their region.  Resins are good to seal tree wounds and protect from fungi, bacteria and insects. The bees work propolis into their beeswax to add these properties: antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, antibacterial, antifungal, antiulcer, anticancer, and immunomodulatory.  So, it is a wonderful product to use on your lips and skin.

At the OilGrow 2022 year-end function we had a few prizes lined up for the resellers.  We usually have a bit of a show-and-tell.  During this time all the resellers have an opportunity to show the rest of us how they use the OilGrow essential oils.  It usually is their unique or favourite way of using it. This gives everyone a few new ideas going forward. Marina won the prize for the best fully developed product in the show and tell. By winning the prize she had the opportunity to have one of her products included in the OilGrow catalogue.

Plump lip balm

Reseller Introduction Marina Schmidt – her lip balm in the OilGrow store

We decided to add her lip balm as a featured product since that is something we thought to be quite unique.  The product is also such a lovely luxurious product that we definitely wanted it to be on show at OilGrow. Thank you for contributing to our catalogue, Marina! And well done on your very original way of using the oils.

Marina’s favourite oil is Lavender; she says it’s mostly because she loves the fragrance! “I use Lavender to help me sleep and I also add it to my skin care routine for fine lines. I also find Lavender to be an excellent insect repellent.” Lavender is an essential oil you can use to help you relax. Use it in your diffuser or smell it straight from the bottle. Use it as a wound healer and on scrapes. It is one of the few essential oils that can be used neat on the skin without a carrier oil.

This reseller quickly realized that essential oils are for everyone.  She loves telling people about all the benefits of the oils. And she makes sure to point out that the OilGrow oils are of the highest quality and very affordable. Her daughters have also become quite excited about using the oils as their go-to options for first aid.
