About Pine
Pine (Pinus sylvestris), is sourced from France. It has a fresh forest fragrance. Pine essential oil is distilled from the needles and cones of the pine tree. It is both a warm or cool oil depending on the body’s needs – and is also a middle note. You can NOT take it internally. It is important to always use essential oils responsibly. See our responsible usage guide here.
Main Chemical Compounds
The main chemical compounds found in our Pine essential oil is Borneol, Bornyl acetate, Cadinene (Sesquiterpenes), Camphene and Pinene. Borneol is responsible for the oil containing these benefits: pain relief, anti-inflammatory properties. Bornyl acetate is responsible for the oil being strong in anti-inflammatory, analgesic benefits, as well as sedative and immuno-modulatory properties. Cadinene (Sesquiterpenes) has anti-inflammatory, analgesic, and antimicrobial properties. Camphene is responsible for the anti-microbial, anti-viral, and pain-relieving effects, and can provide cough relief. Pinene is responsible for assisting with better breathing while it also helps with mental clarity.
