About Azulene
Blue Azulene oil is a combination of German Chamomile, Blue Tansy and Yarrow. It is sourced from France. Azulene has a pungent sharp fragrance. This combination of puer oils is best known to support pain. Azulene essential oil is a warm oil and also a middle or base note. Known for the following benefits: anti-inflammatory, anti-allergic, potential as an HIV inhibitor.
Benefits
Firstly, Azulene contains German Chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla)- this is also known as blue chamomile. It is known as a powerful anti-inflammatory oil. This oil’s main constituent is sesquiterpene chamazulene – the very component responsible for Azulene’s anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic properties. It also exhibits analgesic, antispasmodic, and antianxiety effects. Chamazulene is believed to contribute to chamomile’s ability to reduce inflammation and soothe skin conditions. German Chamomile is known to assist with abscesses, allergies, arthritis, boils, colic, cuts, cystitis, dermatitis, ear Ache, headaches, inflamed skin, insect bites, insomnia, nausea, neuralgia, PMS, rheumatism, sores, sprains, stress and wounds.
Azulene essential oil also contains Blue Tansy (Tanacetum annuum) – also known as Moroccan Chamomile or Moroccan Tansy. This oil is known for its anti-inflammatory, anti-histamine, anti-allergen and anti-fungal applications. This oil possesses a complex, sweet, slightly floral aroma with camphorous and herbaceous undertones. Known to be useful for asthma, muscular aches and eczema. Blue Tansy also contains majority chamazulene which is the anti-inflammatory and anti-allergic properties it contributes to Azulene.
Furthermore, it also contains Yarrow (Achillea millefolium), another dark blue essential oil. Again, containing Chamazulene – a sesquiterpene that exhibits anti-inflammatory and anti-spasmodic properties. It is known to assist with rheumatism, arthritis, inflamed/injured muscles, muscular and menstrual cramps, scarring, acne, eczema, rashes, hemorrhoids, wound care.
As a last word, Azulene is a pure blend of German Chamomile, Blue Tansy and Yarrow all with the major component being Chamazulene. Use this oil to assist with inflammatory conditions that causes pain. It should bring immense relief to inflamed and sensitive skin as well as muscles. Use topically by blending into a carrier oil, lotion or soap. Works well to assist inflamed skin on the scalp as well.

Cautions of Azulene
- Always consult your medical practitioner before using essential oils you are unsure of or if any side effects are experienced because of its use.
- Do not use topically or diffused around children under the age of six unless very diluted.
- Keep away from the eyes.
- Keep out of reach of children.
- Store in glass, in a cool dry place away from sunlight to preserve longer.
- Do not use during pregnancy since it might cause uterine contractions resulting in miscarriage or preterm labor.
